Leicester Wheels for All became a registered charity on 20th September 2016.
For those of you that are not aware of the background of Leicester WFA, we were formed in 2014 by Leicester City Council.
The City Council Transport Strategy Team received a Public Health grant of £15,000 which enabled them to deliver Wheels for All sessions and purchase bikes and also training for volunteers.
Initially 5 bikes were purchased and 3 bikes donated (2 adult tandems and 1 adult trike).
Volunteers were trained by Cycling Projects at the begining of 2015 and all ability cycling sessions started at Braunstone Leisure Centre on the last Friday of every month.
At the end of a very sucessful 2015, it was agreed that Leicester WFA be constituted as a Social Cycling Club. The committe was formed in January 2016.
However, it soon became clear that unless Leicester WFA became a registered charity, we would have difficulty obtaining grants and funding to enable us to keep providing our sessions.
Now that we are a registered charity, we are busy applying for funding to a variety of organisations so that we can continue to provide our all ability cycling sessions in 2017.

All are welcome to our AGM in January 2017 - date to be arranged.
Please email us using the form our the contacts page if you would like to be included on our mailing list
